Cube Steak AKA Round Steak


Cube steak is named for the cube-shaped indentations left on the meat after running through the tenderizer.  An economical steak, but not meant for quick cooking.  Lisa's favorite recipe with cube steak:  Steak and gravy in the slow cooker!  Cut into smaller pieces (think chicken strip size, although chicken nugget size works great too). Flour and fry the steaks until crispy but not yet done.  Add to slow cooker.  Make a generous amount of gravy using the browned bits in the pan.  (Don't forget salt and pepper!)  Add the thickened gravy to the crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours. Serve over rice, potatoes, or cauliflower rice!  This is a crowd pleaser!
